A new wave

Wellington Designer Tim Miller has created a range of laser cut furniture that's attracting attention from Wellington to Milan.

The furniture is made through a unique laser cutting process that transforms a flat sheet of material into a fluid three-dimensional shape, perfectly sculpted to the human body.

Mr Miller, a senior lecturer at Victoria University School of Design, has exhibited a lounger, stool and chair at the prestigious Milan furniture fair. The range is being reviewed by leading European design-led companies which are considering adding CUTform Furniture to their range.

The furniture has both patent and design registration protection.
