Beckie is responsible for developing and implementing Viclink’s marketing strategy. This involves designing communication campaigns to ensure the company and its services are highly visible to Victoria University’s researchers, staff and students—and creating marketing collateral to attract external investment for Viclink’s projects.
No stranger to the start-up community, Beckie has worked for one of New Zealand’s largest start-ups—KiwiBank—during its inception, and most recently as the marketing manager for an LED lighting start-up, Ecopoint. She has also held marketing and business management roles for NZ Post, and the Wellington City Council, where she was responsible for taking the Churton Park Community Centre from architectural plans to reality. Beckie has also recently run projects in two local schools to establish and develop international student programmes.
Beckie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing, Management and Industrial Relations, and a Bachelor of Laws degree in Employment, Intellectual Property and Contract—both from Victoria University of Wellington.
A former competitive swimmer, and the mother of two current competitive swimmers, Beckie is a Swimming New Zealand technical official and is heavily involved in the sport.
