Growing commercialisation skills and industry engagement skills at Victoria University of Wellington
In 2024, Wellington UniVentures brought the Campus Plus PD+ programme to Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington. This professional development programme is designed to help researchers and students grow skills in commercialisation and industry partnerships.
Campus Plus is a global brand with presence in Australia, UK and New Zealand. Since starting in Australia in 2020, Campus Plus has worked with thousands of researchers, hundreds of institutions and supported many dozens of commercialisation professionals as they work to commercialise ideas, inventions and innovations. Wellington UniVentures is the first university in Aotearoa to offer Campus Plus to its universtiy academics, staff, and students.
What we're offering
Delivered through Campus Plus, the PD+ programme is a 20-webinar series teaching skills in research commercialisation and industry engagement. Webinars are one-hour long and run approximately fortnightly on Thursday afternoons between 2-3pm.
Wellington UniVentures also hosts live viewings in Pipitea, Kelburn and Gracefield campuses, with Senior Commercialisation Managers on-hand to discuss the contents of the webinars and answer questions. Contact us for a calendar invite to attend.
The webinars are aimed at researchers, students and staff who are curious about research commercialisation and improving their industry engagement. The presenters are leaders in their respective fields from across Australia and New Zealand.
Wellington UniVentures has made PD+ available to everyone at Victoria University of Wellington, signing in with their @vuw.ac.nz email address. This includes undergraduate students. Participants are able to earn digital badges for participation and completion and those undertaking the Registered Technology Transfer Professional qualification can earn points on certain accredited workshops.
